The Juice is on!



The ingredients for this glass of juice:
*2 apples
*5 carrots
*1 kiwi
*1/2 lemon
*handful of fresh parsley



I am juicing and eating through the weekend and then Monday, I will begin the juice fast in which I will be juicing for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a week. I had planned to do that this week but I was mistaken on how much longer I had to be on my antibiotics. So, I am eating very healthy meals for breakfast and dinner and juicing for lunch through the weekend. During this time, I am taking some really good probiotics to replenish the good bacteria in my body that antibiotics strip you of. This helps build your immune system tremendously. I am also trying to intake little to no dairy to see if that is a factor in my allergy and sinus problems.
Example of meals: Breakfast- bowl of stove top oatmeal with nuts and dried cranberries
Dinner (last night)- Citrus Baked Tilapia, quinoa, black beans and corn
These are typical meals at our home. In general, we try to eat very healthy and thoroughly enjoy it, but........over the last year, we have definitely introduced much more sugary items into our home than normal or than I like. So, we are getting back to basics.
I will taking these different findings in steps so that I can truly see which things are helping and which things are not. So, to recap, the rest of this week, I am eating healthy, juicing and cutting out dairy as well as taking probiotics. Next week, I will be strictly juicing (so no dairy),probiotics, & apple cider vinegar.

  1. You can stick a butterfinger ice cream pie in the juicer for me! That ought to cleanse my body of toxins!

  2. uh, yeah.....you see how I didn't add that recipe to the blog, because it is sooooo not inspiring to the whole "being healthy" theme and lifestyle, but sometimes you gotta splurge and hook your friends up with some real fatty desserts! HA! ;)
