I am on day 2 of my Juice Detox Fast. I began the week with a sinus headache and stuffy nose, making it all the more necessary for me to do this fast. I am hopeful that as the week goes on that my sinus symptoms will decrease, but I also know that these things take time.
So far, I have enjoyed a few different delicious juices, but my favorite has been the orange strawberry kiwi juice.
2 oranges
6 strawberries
1 kiwi
...and you get a really good and healthy glass of juice! As most know, oranges are a great source of vitamin C and strawberries are loaded with antioxidants.
A few other juice combos that I've tried are: Apple Strawberry, Apple Strawberry Kiwi, Apple Carrot (this is one of my favorites), Fresh lemonade....
I will be heading to the store in the next day to buy lots of fresh veggies to make some tomato veggie juice too!
So far, I feel pretty good! I have done a juice fast twice before and felt great both times! In between juices (breakfast, lunch and dinner), I am drinking lots of water, taking my apple cider vinegar, probiotics, grapefruit seed extract and vitamins.
During these types of detox fasts, you can eat whole foods (the fruits and veggies you would juice or even whole grains) if you need to. I would certainly try to only do juice and water if you can, but if you find you need to eat something at some point, you can eat whole foods in small quantities and still maintain a detox diet. If you eat whole grains, make sure they are actually whole grain (quinoa, oatmeal, barley, brown rice, etc) and not something like "wheat bread" because even that usually has white flour and sugar in it. (unless it is something like Ezekial bread)
